Peter Leue (pronounced Loya) (b. 1946) has worked in wood and mixed media for five decades. Peter studied with Wendell Castle and Bill Keyser at the School for American Crafts at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1968. An award-winning artist and craftsman, Peter concentrates on interactive and functional sculpture.

Peter's work has been shown internationally, in Taipei, Taiwan, and in the eastern US. Two of his recent series of 13 life-sized, poseable wooden sculptures called Posers, concluded a 2200-mile journey around the southern US, and were shown in instant, pop-up installations in Sanford, NC, New Orleans, LA, Memphis, TN, Asheville, NC and Richmond, VA. An Albany Times Union story about the trip can be found here. More recently, his Poser "Cupid, Love Drone" was selected for the "Heroes and Villains" Show at the Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center (an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution) in Dowell, MD, in 2015. In August-September, Peter's "Wooden Sentries," another pair of Posers, was seen at "Real People 2015" at the Old Courthouse Arts Center in Woodstock, IL. Peter's "Loving (Albany) Cup" were on display at the Annemarie Sculpture Garden in their "Finding Our Place" show, ending in January 2016. See more of Peter's Posers here
